  • sgc conference in philly 2010

SGC conference was in Philadelphia this March. The Common Press at University of Pennsylvania held an open house on Saturday, the last day of the conference. With Matt Neff and Sofie Hodara, we created a letterpress/silkscreen poster for the event. Visitors created their own posters to take home.

Outloud : an invitational artist book performance + exhibition. My collaborative performance and book project with Ashley John Pigford, Lexicology, was one of the performances. It explored the relationships: between words, between people, and between objects and behavior, and the construction of meaning through coincidence.

See this write-up about the performance:

This is a documentary-style stop motion video of a collaborative one page book project by Katie Baldwin + Tricia Treacy that included letterpress + woodblock printing on a vandercook press. This book was completed in early 2009.

Katie Baldwin and Tricia Treacy attended the College Book Arts Conference in Iowa City, IA during the wintery days of January in 2009. We presented our collaborative book, another place, and demonstrated reductive woodblock printing to create a one page book with text on the vandercook press. It was a lot of fun and seems like people enjoyed our presentation, the last event of the conference. The print shop was amazing with wonderful natural light.
