Selections from the Vista Sans Wood Type Project were included in the Object Play exhibition at the Press Street Antenna Gallery

OBJECT PLAY, curated by Angela Driscoll and Yuka Petz, explores the relationships between text, image, and object. Artists Katie Murken, Christopher Michlig, and collaborators Tricia Treacy and Ashley John Pigford, manipulate objects through the process of making.

Exhibition openings were March 10th + March 16th.

Ashley Pigford and I will be doing another sound performance of our collaborative book, Lexicology at the opening of the CBAA exhibition, Biblio Tech, 6 January between 5:30-730pm at the San Francisco Public Library.

My artist book, Wallpaper will also be on display in the exhibition.lexicology at SF Public Library click here to see video of performance

My collaboration with Ashley John Pigford, Vista Sans Wood Type Project was included in the recent woodtype evolved exhibition at Columbia College Chicago, curated by Nick Sherman and April Sheridan.

Domus Magazine reviewed the current show at The Center for Book Arts in New York. They included an image of Old Movies which is included in the exhibition.

cbaa grant

I was awarded a CBAA project assistance grant for the collaborative project, Vista Sans wood type with Ashley John Pigford which utilizes modern technology to create letterpress wood type in an exploration of contemporary methods of typographic design, letterpress printing and book arts. Treacy and Pigford aim to explore the following: how contemporary typefaces can operate within historic printing processes, collaborative experimental printmaking processes, the conceptual nature of the successes and failures of computer and wood technologies. They are currently creating two sets of 432 point wood font of the Emigre typeface Vista Sans, designed by Xavier Dupre.
